Your Chromebook automatically checks for and downloads updates when connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Step1. Turn on Chromebook if not already on.
Step2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
(It should automatically)
Step3. Go to Settings
Step4. Once in the new window go at the bottom left, scroll to select About ChromeOS.
Step5. Once the “About ChromeOS” window opens then either depending on the model Chrome will start downloading the update or there will be a button saying to “Check for updates.”
After this process runs the update you will be promoted to restart with the button “Restart”.
Restart the chromebook and then login as you did before and start working.
NOTE: If the Chromebook is behind on updates then go through the steps again to verify the device is up to date.
